About Us
Our Story
Kenosis Discipleship Training Program is a fifteen-month journey designed for members of the Broken Arrow Church of Christ who want to go deeper in faith, service, and community.
The word kenosis comes from Philippians 2, where Paul describes how Jesus "emptied himself" — setting aside status and power to become a servant. That passage is our foundation.
This program is an invitation to live that same pattern: learning how to move downward from pride into humility, from comfort into sacrifice, from self-focus into mission.
Over fifteen months, participants work through eight six-week cycles of Scripture study, spiritual practices, and guided mentor conversations. Three community service projects are woven into the journey. Each participant walks with a personal mentor for the full program.
The program unfolds in four movements:
Foundations of the Descent — developing the mind of Christ
The Cost of Discipleship — following Jesus when it's uncomfortable
The New Life in the Spirit — being formed and freed by the Spirit
The Sent Life — carrying a cross-shaped life into Broken Arrow
