The Kenosis Discipleship Training Program is a fifteen-month program for members of the Broken Arrow Church of Christ centered on the self-emptying example of Jesus in Philippians 2. It combines Bible study, personal spiritual practices, mentoring, and local service projects.
It's a Greek word from Philippians 2:7, where Paul says Jesus "emptied himself" by taking on the form of a servant. The program takes its name from that passage and uses it as the lens for everything: humility, sacrifice, service, and mission.
The program is designed to fit a modern schedule. Each six-week cycle includes manageable Scripture readings, selected chapters from accessible books, and short podcasts or videos you can listen to during a commute or lunch break. There are no dense academic textbooks. The main formal commitment is a two-hour group class at the end of each cycle.
Each cycle ends with a two-hour gathering focused on teaching, discussion, prayer, and testimony. These sessions are where the cohort processes what they've been learning together and applies it practically.
